Ephesians 4:11-13

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

For those who think the age of the apostles is past, do you think that the body of Christ has become mature? I won’t even ask if the body has attained the whole measure of the fullness of Christ because most people don’t even know it is in the Bible. And most of the people who do know this verse probably don’t even think that it is possible. As I have heard it said, we need to increase our faith so that we can become like Nazareth, the city known for its unbelief.

What a huge concept. We are supposed to attain the whole measure of the fullness of Christ! Wow! Kind of makes you think that your big aspirations aren’t so big after all.

  1. Hi, David,
I’ll send that note about my home that has been brewing since you were last at New Song. I’m wondering where your recent posts are. This stuff is GOOD!
